Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies Pharos uses, why, and how to control them. For the full picture on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Cookies let sites remember who you are between page loads, understand how their product is used, and keep you logged in. Some cookies come from us; some come from third parties we use.
The categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. When you first visit Pharos from the EU, UK, or other regions that require prior consent, we ask which categories you accept before setting any non-essential cookies.
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for Pharos to work. You can't turn them off.
| Cookie / storage | Set by | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-* (Supabase auth) | Supabase | Keeps you logged in | Up to 1 year |
cc_cookie | Pharos | Remembers your cookie consent choice | 6 months |
| CSRF / session tokens | Pharos | Security; prevents cross-site request forgery | Session |
2. Analytics (optional)
These help us understand how people use Pharos so we can make it better. We don't use analytics for advertising.
| Cookie / storage | Set by | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_* | PostHog | Product analytics — which features are used | Up to 1 year |
_clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM | Microsoft Clarity | Session recording and heatmaps to find UX issues | Up to 1 year |
3. Marketing (optional)
We do not currently set marketing cookies. If that changes, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before doing so.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties we embed:
- PostHog — product analytics. Privacy policy
- Microsoft Clarity — session replay. Privacy policy
- Stripe — where we load Stripe elements or scripts on billing and
checkout pages, Stripe sets cookies such as
__stripe_midand__stripe_sidfor fraud prevention and session management. These are treated as strictly necessary while you are completing a payment. Privacy policy
These third parties may use the cookies they set to recognize you across other sites that also use their services.
How to manage cookies
On Pharos: click Manage cookies in the footer at any time to open the preferences panel. You can accept or reject analytics cookies there.
In your browser: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Be aware that disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break the app (you won't be able to stay logged in).
Global signals: we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for visitors from jurisdictions where it's legally recognized.
Do Not Track
Because there's no industry consensus on what Do Not Track means, we don't respond to DNT signals. We do honor GPC (see above).
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change categories, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. Material changes will also trigger the consent banner again so you can review.
